Take The Time To “Powder Out”

It has been a while since I have posted anything on my website. The reason for this is that there has been so much going on globally, politically, economically and locally that I didn’t even know where to begin. However, I’ve just finished the first painting (Powder Out) in my new studio and I think the subject matter is perfect for the season and the current state of affairs in the world. At this time of economic crisis (and yes I think it is fair to refer to as just that), I want you all to take some time to “powder out”. For all of you non-pro wrestling enthusiasts out there, I need to explain what that means. In pro wrestling, “powder out” is derived from the show business concept of taking a powder – freshening up and restoring one’s composure. In wrestling it is taken one step further refering to when a wrestler bolts from the ring to slow the momentum when things aren’t working to his/her advantage. So how does this apply to you? In this period of time when friends are losing their jobs, parents are losing their life savings, people are overwhelmed by media imposed fear of the future, politicos have dropped the ball and greed has bitten itself in the ass – YOU need to take sometime out, regain your composure, share the best of who you are with others and things will work out in the long run. All the best this holiday season and please “POWDER OUT”.
